Monday – Thursday & Saturday: 09:00 – 22:00
Friday: 09:00 – 20:00
Sunday: 13:00 – 22:00

Taylor Library, just like other library sites of the University of Aberdeen, will be closed for the public holiday on Monday 12th July 2021. All library sites will reopen again on Tuesday 13th July.

During the summer, Taylor Library will be operating under our summer opening hours. On the last week of the term, between Monday 17 May – Friday 21 May, Taylor Library is open from 09:00 to 20:00. The Library is closed on Saturday 22 May & Sunday 23 May.
As of Monday 24 May, the opening hours will be as follows:
Term hours will resume on Monday 20 September. Please remember, Taylor Library is open for registered students and staff, with a reduced occupancy. Further details on library services and resources can be found here.

As a result of Scotland moving from Level 4 to Level 3 restrictions, we are pleased to announce that Taylor Library is reopening on Monday 26 April 2021. Our opening hours will be the same as established in the previous semester:
Monday – Friday: 09:00 – 20:00
Saturday & Sunday: 13:00 – 17:00
Taylor Library will only open for current staff and registered students, and you always need your ID card to enter the library. Our Click & Collect service keeps operating as usual.
Please, remember to wear face coverings, maintain the 2m physical distancing, and use the hand sanitisers which are provided across the whole Taylor building. Further information about our services and resources can be found here.

With the exam period fast approaching, the Library Services at the University of Aberdeen is offering extended, 24/7 opening hours for students and staff.
The Sir Duncan Rice Library (TSDRL) opened at 11:00 on Sunday 17 November, and it stays open continuously until 22:00 on Friday 13 December 2019.
There will be swipe card access after 22:00 every day, so please bring your ID card with you if you want to stay longer as access will not be permitted without a valid ID card.

While TSDRL is open for 24/7 before and during exams, the site libraries – e.g. Taylor Library and Medical Library – are open as normal. Follow the link for more details.

The Taylor Library will be closed on the morning of Thursday the 22nd August for staff training purposes, between 9am and 12:30pm. The dropbox will be situated outside the library entrance for any Heavy Demand items you may have to return. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

As we are getting closer to the exams, the Taylor Library is getting more and more busy. We are happy to see many of you here, and to help you with your exam preparation. Although our opening hours stay the same, this does not mean, you have to stop your studies at 10 pm.
The good news is that the Sir Duncan Rice Library has extended its opening hours, and it is now open 24/7 until 22:00 on Friday 17 May 2019.
Please, be aware that there is only swipe access in the main library after 10 pm, so you always need your ID card to enter the building. Also, as library PCs require a nightly shutdown for reboot, they will not be available for around 10 minutes at 4 am. If you are working on something important at the time, you will have the option to delay the shutdown for 2 hours.
Remember, to take regular breaks and to look after your belongings. For your safety, do not leave the library alone, always travel home with your friends in the early hours.
