The Taylor Library will be closed on the morning of Thursday the 22nd August for staff training purposes, between 9am and 12:30pm. The dropbox will be situated outside the library entrance for any Heavy Demand items you may have to return. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
As we are getting closer to the exams, the Taylor Library is getting more and more busy. We are happy to see many of you here, and to help you with your exam preparation. Although our opening hours stay the same, this does not mean, you have to stop your studies at 10 pm.
The good news is that the Sir Duncan Rice Library has extended its opening hours, and it is now open 24/7 until 22:00 on Friday 17 May 2019.
Please, be aware that there is only swipe access in the main library after 10 pm, so you always need your ID card to enter the building. Also, as library PCs require a nightly shutdown for reboot, they will not be available for around 10 minutes at 4 am. If you are working on something important at the time, you will have the option to delay the shutdown for 2 hours.
Remember, to take regular breaks and to look after your belongings. For your safety, do not leave the library alone, always travel home with your friends in the early hours.
We wish you all the best during revision time, and good luck with your exams.
Good news everyone – Taylor Library is to have over 200 additional power sockets installed over the coming weeks, meaning almost every seat where laptops are permitted will have an outlet by the time term starts in September. There will inevitably be some disruption as the work is carried out but we will of course be open for business as usual. Apologies for any inconvenience the works
